My son is just about 14 months and we got him a toddler bed considering the fact that im about to be due in April. We need the crib. When did your baby switch?

eh my son is 2 1/2 and he has a toddler bed but still sleeps with me!! I’m getting bigger and our bed is getting smaller.

I skipped the toddler bed and switched to a big bed at about 16 months. So, I would say no, it’s not to early to switch to a toddler bed. It takes a night or two for them to understand they have to stay in bed so your up quite a bit replacing them in their beds, but heck, with all that new found freedom, who wouldn’t be up playing with toys at 3 am LOL.

Our daughter was about 18 months when we converted the crib to a toddler bed. Now she prefers a twin mattress for the extra room (she’s 3).

My older two children switched to a toddler bed at 18 months. I started with them sleeping in it at nap time and slowly transitioned them into using it at night as well.
I would imagine that you could start getting your son used to it now. Good luck!

im doing the same thing right now my son is 13 months i am due in june im getting him a toddler bed in the weekend but i will probabky put it in my room

We switched our daughter at 2. It would probably be ok but be sure to put a baby gate up in the doorway of his room if you usually leave the door open at night so he can’t wander out and get hurt.

18 months and it was a great switch for us!
our son loved to sleep in our bed, until we got him his own big boy bed with Cars bedding. he has slept in his bed every night since then.
i really think he liked the idea that he could climb in his own bed. i think the crib was starting to feel like a cage for him.
