What is wedding photojournalism?

Of the many options for wedding photography Boulder artists sometimes speak of their “photojournalistic style”

What does this mean, exactly, when applied to a wedding setting?

According to the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), photojournalists set themselves apart from other folks in their industry by their candid, documentary approach – a distinctly artistic vision toward wedding photography.

The goal of this style of wedding photography is to quietly capture the real moments as they happen for the bride and groom (and others at the wedding). The idea is to let the pictures capture the story of what went on, rather than to create the story as many professional wedding shoots do.
