Why do you think……?

not many girls have been nascar drivers?

Have a good night everyone, I’m off to finish my homework then go to bed!

I think it is just a lack of interest in driving. There really is nothing keeping them from driving if they have the skills. Maybe it’s because they would always pull down pit road to ask for directions. ;) I say we can use more women in Nascar.

It’s hard to say. My guess would be lack of opportunity. I always respected Janet, Shawna, and Erin. Wish they could have been big on the CUP circuit. I would love if we could get a "Danica" not actually Danica but someone with her talent and marketability. Danica brings too much drama along. I wish I had a better answer…..but it’s a shame we haven’t had more.

Probably because most of the girls now are to worried about their hair and nails and wouldn’t be able to stand the 500 lbs of force on top of them at every turn. But I would love to see a woman in NASCAR I would definitely have another driver to cheer for on Raceday!!

    Go Mark Martin #8!!!!!!!!!

For the same reasons as to why there are no women in NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA.

I guess it just has not worked out really. The thing is that Nascar is women friendly and that if a women is qualified to drive then she can in the appropriate Nascar series, it just does not happen that much.

I think a lot of it is due to physical demands. Women typically are not built to withstand the physical aspects of it as compared to men. (I am a female by the way.) Most women would not be able to handle it, but there are some out there that have and could, they just seem to choose not to go into the series, and some just didn’t stay.

Because they would make you drive even if you were having your period, and the helmets mess up your hair.

I don’t think many young girls are encouraged to even try it.

It’s a hard field to break into even if you’re a guy. I don’t care what anybody says, I’m not so sure a girl would get a friendly reception in the garage. You have to have good teammates to succeed, and a lot of drivers have had the benefit of a mentor, an older driver.
