Would like to provide a side protection so that my toddler kid can sleep in the king bed with me?

We have an eastern king bed. We would like to protect one side with the same way how normally a toddler bed is protected. I would like to know what I should ask in the shop to provide this side protection as part of the king bed.

They sell side protectors for beds, my son had one for his bed. We got it from walmart for like 10 bucks. Or you can push your bed up against a wall.

How old is your child? My son has always occasionaly slept with me and he has never rolled out of bed.. but i wouldnt be to sure about a child under 2.

  1. idk shouldn’t your toddler be in a bed/crib of his own

  2. I would not suggest the toddler sleeping with you. Parents sometimes roll while sleeping and accidentally suffocate their children. However, there are siderails that can be purchased at wal-mart.

I was unable to save a neighbors child that died due to a rollover by the parent.

  3. I dont suggest your toddler sleeping with you unless s/he is sick or has had a bad dream. At this age s/he should be learning independence by sleeping in their own bed. Plus, continuing this for too long can cause serious separation anxiety when they get older.

See if you can purchase side rails, or push the bed against the wall. Have the child sleeping on the side of bed that’s against the wall.

  4. Another option would be to do what I did, viz: just chuck your mattress on the floor for now.

FWIW, my daughter has always slept on my king-size mattress with me; she’s 2.5 now, and has never rolled out of bed.

  6. Your child should be in their own bed. Letting your child sleep in the same bed with you is a very bad habit to start. Your child needs to learn to be dependent at a young age and letting them sleep in your bed is not going to do anything for your child in the long run. I suggest you get your child their own bed that has the sides on it rather than get some for your own.

All of my babies slept in my king size bed with me until they were well past being toddlers. I never tried any of the bed rails. We just pushed the bed against the wall and the child slept between me and the wall.
