Does joining two single beds together make a twin, double or king sized bed?

I need to buy a fitted sheet and bedding appropriate to the size of the bed. I am joining two single beds – would that make a double bed, king sized bed or twin sized bed?

King

King = 6ft
Queen = 5ft
Double = 4′6"
Three quarter = 4ft
Single = 3ft

  1. just over a duble bed and btw there would be a sort of hole all the way down the middle of the bed lol

  2. Measure the beds put together.

  3. Measure it.Singles are usually 3ft 6inch so it would be king size.It would make a bad back for me.

  4. Neither exactly !! If you are talking UK sizes, a UK single is 0.9 x 1.9m – Double is 1.35 x 1.9. Queen is 1.5 x 2.0 and a King is 1.85 x 2.0m This makes a King closest, twice the width but 10cm longer, so King size sheets should be a close fit??

  6. it depends on the size of the beds as singles differ 2 but i used to have 2 singles and had superking sheets.small single measures 75 single 90 double 135 king 150 super king 180cm btw twin just means 2 single bed in a room not joined usually

  8. Depends what size singles you have put together it will make an extra wide double bed…If you get king sized sheets you will be covered.

    heres the sizes in inches…get your tape measure out and check the size of your single beds.

  10. Standard twin is 39.5 inches wide in the US, put them together and you’ll have a 79" width ~ standard Eastern King (which is the widest of Kings) is 76" wide.

    If you buy a king sized bedding set with extra deep pockets, you’ll have enough "give" to span those extra 3 inches.

  11. Hi, A standard twin is 39"x75" and a twin xl is 39"x 80"

    If your boxsprings are a standard twin and you get almost a standard king it will not fit perfectly as you will be 2 inches short in the width and 5 inches longer in the length which isn’t much but just so you know.

    If the boxsprings are twin xl then an eastern king will fit perfectly.
    Here are the measurements. There is also a twin bed connector you can get if you want to keep the beds from separating http://www.bestratedmattresses.com/what-to-do-to-make-twin-beds-into-a-king.html Hope this helps.

    Standard King 76”x80”

    California King 72”x84”
    (aka Western King)

    Eastern King 78”x80”
