I can not believe my in laws. My husbands family is going down to Florida next month and staying at a cheap hotel and instead of getting three rooms they are putting eight of them in each Hotel Room. These are smallish rooms and only have two beds. They plan to bring in two roll-aways and then have the other people sleep in the bathroom on the floor and in the hallway.
If you were a maid at the hotel would you report them?
It is their responsibility for breaking the rule, not yours. I would not worry about it. They know they are breaking the rule. However, just for your info, if they are staying at a Disney Resort, they could have an issue. This is not just a Disney rule, it is a Fire Marshall rule. If the room sleeps 4 people and they have 8 people, it is going to be very uncomfortable because those rooms are small and not intended for that many people. Most of those rooms will not really fit an extra rollaway.
Many of the maids at the Disney Resorts have reported guests that have more than the required number of people in the room. Plus, if they are staying at Disney they will not be able to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours. This is one of the great perks for staying at a Disney Resort.
If they are staying off property, they may not have quite the issue. That would really depend on the resort and their policy. Good luck!
everyone does it, apartment renters and all~ my daughter lives there and parking can be a nightmare… no one cares

If I were a maid I wouldn’t report them unless they left a mega huge mess to be cleared up.

Yes, I’d report them.

Absolutely! The hotel is missing out on revenue AND it’s a HUGE fire safety issue!

No, they’ll learn the hard way….

While a maid at the hotel would be within their rights to report them, since sleeping so many to such a small room is considered dangerous in the event of an emergency, I’m curious as to why you think you should be the one to report them. They may only be trying to save money, as take it from me DW is very expensive, albeit going about it the wrong way.
What would be your motivations for reporting them? If they’re for anything other than a concern for their safety, I’d say you’d be out of line, as anything else comes across as petty or tattling. Put it this way; how much do you value your relationship with your husband and his family? Because calling ahead to report them is going to put a big dent in your good graces with them unless you try to talk to them about it first.
Bottom line? It’s their trip and if they get kicked out of their room, they’ll find out the hard way. It doesn’t concern you, so why involve yourself?

report them for what. times are too hard to pay for more rooms. if they can keep the noise level down then you shouldn’t have a problem with it. its none of your business!
