Does Your Model Train Need ‘Couplers Counciling’?
If you are faced with a plethora of derailments on your model train line, take a moment or two to give things a once-over inspection.
If you can’t seem to find an obvious cause, double check your couplers. More and more manufacturers are shipping the couplers unpolished. So if you have recently added a new piece of rolling stock or replaced couplers on your line, check them out. Even if you haven’t yet started having derailments, rough couplers aren’t a good thing. Eventually the will start to grab, and you’ll start to see more of your train’s underside that you want.
What’s the solution?
Polish up your couplers so that they move smoothly on one another. Specific instructions are generally provided by the manufacturer.
