If you collapsed, in another room, how long before your spouse notices you’re gone?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin in nascar bedding | 12 Comments »

If you were missing (perhaps having a heart attack and lying on the floor near the far side of the bed), would you be a goner?

I think I’d probably be cold by the time my husband found me….especially during nascar season.

I’m sure I would find my wife, two minutes tops. I follow her around like a little puppy begging for sex. Plus I find it hard to breath when she is not next to me, my life revolves around her, so she never has to worry about being alone anytime of the day.

From crib size daybed to full size bed???!!!?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin in daybed bedding | 3 Comments »

My son will be making 2 December 11 and has been in a crib daybed since he was 13 months old ( due to his ability to climb out Now i have faced a ton of issues putting a boy that young in his own room alone at night> So i am aware of all the dangers of the transition except how to get him to not jump on the bed. His daddy’s friend thought it’d be cool to teach him..YEAH RIGHT!! And now when he gets into a room with a big bed it takes him 3-5 min and hes jumping away..HE’s 3′2” so he’s bigger than most kids his age but he also doesn’t talk! He’s got some issuses with his ears and tubes so we are starting to believe his hearing is muffled….How do i teach a child wit theese problems stroongly and from the begining that this is not okay.. It’s hot ad it’s going to hurt you speech’s do not work and using a firm hand hadn’t worked either…His first night is tonight and i am soo worried..

Put a chain lock on the outside of the door. At night put him to bed and say "When you are in bed the door stays open. When you get out the door closes, do you understand?" Then leave, if he gets up. Lock the door but leave the door open so you can communicate. "Tell him if he gets in bed you’ll open the door" When he does, open the door then leave. Continue to do this until he stays in bed. After a couple of days he’ll just stay in bed at bed time.

Create a King Bed out of Two Twin Beds?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin in king bedding | 4 Comments »

Does anyone know where I can get a T connector or something that connects two twin beds converting them into a king size bed with no two in between them?? Who makes such a thing and what is it called that connects them.
Maybe I wasn’t clear. I’m pushing two twin beds together for company and heard there is a connector/foam rubber piece that can be bought to smooth the mattress across so there’s no crevasse. I don’t know where to buy that connector?

This is what you’re looking for:

ensemble? or solid wood frame?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin in bedding ensembles | 3 Comments »

I am looking to buy a new bedroom suite and I have always been curious to the best way to go. Ensemble or bed frame??? I love the look of a frame, I am just worried it won’t last the lenght of time. I am looking to invest in something that will last 20years plus, understanding I will have to buy a new mattress along the way! I know the ensemble is more versatile, and easy to move. I guess I am just worried that the support in a frame will give (simliar to an old couch). Any ideas???

With the advent of disposable furniture from famous brands like Ikea and the like, poor quality seems to be accepted as normal. It is not normal, necessary, or environmentally responsible. A properly made bedroom set should last a lifetime. Go to any antique exhibition and you will see sets that are hundreds of years old. Mission furniture, which originated in Great Britain, is still made to last a lifetime. There is wide verity to choose from at www.barnfurnituremart.com
Authentic Mission style furniture also known as Arts and Crafts furniture is a timeless choice. When it is made using the traditional methods that make it, truly authentic it is a bulletproof choice. You will have something that will last and last. Many stores sell Mission Style furniture that is not made in the traditional way using solid oak. Instead, they use what they call solid wood. That is code for particleboard. Baloney IS meat. The Barn Furniture sells Mission furniture built with the traditional methods in a multitude of price ranges
If you plan on only keeping your furniture for 1 to 5 years and treat your furniture with kid gloves Ikea may be a good choice, however, ask anyone that has had Ikea furniture for a while or attempted to move it. It tends to auto destruct upon moving. Those cam lock type assembly hardware just don’t like to be moved. What makes it fairly inexpensive is what makes it poor quality. The whole thing is about freight and warehouse space. This should NOT YOUR PROBLEM. In my humble opinion, virtually all assemble yourself furniture is inferior quality mostly made of particleboard filled with formaldehyde.

Anyone have any tips for an easier transisiton to a toddler bed for a two year old?

My daughter is two and we just bought her a toddler bed for her room. She is only two, but she is very strong and tore her crib up. We cannot afford another crib, and think she is big enough for a big bed. Its only been two nights, last night she did really good, but she still hasnt taken a nap on it or gone down easily. Im wondering if anyone else has put their 2 year old in a toddler bed and how they handled it.. Thanks!

my daughters 4 and 3 had toddler beds for a little over a year! they are now in "big girl beds" but taking them out a crib was wasy.. the hard part was they could get in and out whenever they pleased.. so i put a baby gate up in the door way of their room and it solved that problem! Noe they have bunk beds.. even though they both sleep together on the bottom.. those beds will last forever!

How long does your dog sleep each day?

Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin in beddings | 4 Comments »

Generally, how long does your dog nap each day? Are they active, bouncing around every of your waking minute or do they tend to lie in the sun or snuggle up in their beddings for most of the day?

4 years ago, I would eat myself to see this answer written down here. She was the BOUNCIEST dog ever. Never stopped. I remember walking her 5 miles per day and she came home tireless, jumping around and begging me to play.

Now she is older, suffers from heart condition and arthits, and isn’t too much bouncy. Sometimes I want to play with her and she is too tired, and, in Winter, she spends most days snuggled up under tones of blankets. On the Summer she likes to sleep on the sun. She adapted herself very well to the fact she isn’t a bouncy puppy anymore… But sometimes, she still wishes to. It breaks my heart seeing her running around like a puppy, and suddenly, feeling tired and breathless, trying to run but knowing she has to give up…

I don’t really mind though. She’s still mentally and physically healthy and we still wrestle, she still runs around in circles when I arrive home and she chases the cat with a lot of energy. I still play fetch and hide and seek with her, only slower, and she loves it.

I’d say that my dog spends:

60% of her life sleeping
25% of her life playing (slowly and smoothly)
10% of her life chasing the cat
5% of her life eating (she’s not so greedy)

California king mattress fit inside a regular king bed?

Posted on November 26th, 2009 by admin in king bedding | 2 Comments »

Does a california king mattress fit in a regular eastern king platform bed? I have a queen and am planning on buying a cal king but can only find an eastern king platform bed that i like~

It probably won’t fit right.

A California king is 4" longer in length and 4" more narrow in width than a regular king.

a regular king is 76" x 80"
a California king is 72" x 84"

Do you like this bedspread?
